Done under the direction of mentor and UWM Peck School of the Arts faculty Katie Martin-Meurer, this book is a testament to the vitality of community in hard times. A paired back design with full-bleed images puts the people first. Shoelaces weave through the pages to intertwine at the middle spread, becoming metaphors for the paths of our lives. The pagination is paced like the experience of a walk; building a rhythm then breaking it with surprises and discoveries along the way.
